Under the auspices of U. Kenan İpek, Turkish Consul General of Turkish Republics in Chicago, a meeting was held with Turkey Foreign Affairs Minister, Hon. Ali Babacan, in Chicago on September 21, 2007 with representatives of Midwest Component Associations and Chamber of Commerces. Serkan Özdemir, TACAM Vice-President, attended this meeting on behalf of TACAM Board.
Hon. Ali Babacan gave a brief speech on issues concerning the Turkish-American communities in the United States and expressed the importance of Turkey’s keeping in touch with Turkish Associations. Upon discussing his expectations from Association representatives, Mr. Babacan welcomed questions and remarks from the audience.
Under the auspices of U. Kenan İpek, Turkish Consul General of Turkish Republics in Chicago, a meeting was held with Mr. Rıfat Hisarcıklıoğlu in Chicago on September 17, 2007 with representatives of Midwest Component Associations and Chamber of Commerces. Consul General Hon. U. Kenan İpek and Commercial Ateshee Mr. Süleyman Sözeri were also present at this meeting. Didem Şeyhoğlu, TACAM President, attended this meeting on behalf of TACAM Board.
Upon Mr. İpek’s opening remarks, Mr. Hisarcıklıoğlu gave a presentation that reflected the economic progress of Turkey in the last 25 years and discussed TOBB activities along with the state of commercial affairs between Turkey and United States. The meeting was followed by a luncheon at the John Hancock Center.
